Show us your festive face

At SHARP we don’t like giving our clients chocolates and wine for Christmas. It’s not that we’re all Scrooges. It’s just we prefer to do something that embraces what the festive season is really about and do some good helping others.

This year is no exception with us supporting a charity that we’re sure you’ll agree is doing vital work. It’s called YoungMinds and, as the UK’s leading charity for young people and children with mental health issues, the importance of the help it gives can’t be underestimated. Especially as we were shocked to discover that 850,000 children aged 5-16 have mental health problems.

With YoungMinds tackling issues as diverse as depression and self harm to bullying and violence, every pound raised helps a young person turn their life round. What makes this more important is that a child with good mental health is more likely to be able to grow into an adult capable of fulfilling their potential.

To help raise money for YoungMinds, as well as raise awareness of mental health problems in young people and children,we’ve created aShow Your Festive Face campaign to go across social media.

As part of this, we’ve picked 1,000 people at random from our database and social media followers, then donated £1 on their behalf toYoungMinds. We’ve then contacted each one, sending them our Festive Face selfies as well as letting them know we’ve made a charitable contribution in their name and inviting them to pass on the festive gift that keeps on giving.

We hope you can join in and help the donations snowball. Just follow the steps below and pass on the feel good effect:

  1. Donate £1 by texting SYFF99 £1 to 70070.
  2. Take a Festive Face selfie.
  3. Copy and paste this message:

I’ve just given £1 to @YoungMindsUK on behalf of the friends i’ve tagged. Pass this on and help children with mental health issues – donate on a friend’s behalf by texting SYFF99 £1 to 70070, paste this message to Facebook with a #FestiveFace selfie and tag your friend.

  1. Post to Facebook with your selfie and tag the friend/s you’ve made a donation for.

Just as a dog isn’t just for Christmas, neither is our commitment to raising money for YoungMinds. Which is why with the help of staff, friends, family and clients, we’re going to keep fundraising throughout 2017. So make sure you keep an eye out for our next event. And, more importantly, join in.

Merry Christmas from all at SHARP.
